‘Rosemary Baby’ Branding

The target audience for Rosemary’s Baby are people aged between 16-35, with an interest in horror media, cinema history, and pop culture. They enjoy obsessing over tv shows, purchasing its merchandise and consuming every aspect of its advertising media.
Based on the 1967 novel of the same name by Ira Levin, Rosemary’s Baby is an upcoming, seven-episode, limited series to be distributed from the 18th of September 2024, on HBO’s streaming service, MAX. It features emerging horror auteur Ti West, in his television debut as showrunner and esteemed actors Anya Taylor Joy and Dev Patel in the starring roles.
The aim of this project is to increase the viewer count of Rosemary’s Baby by encouraging audience excitement and engagement proceeding the series premiere through its branding, as well as curating and encouraging a dedicated fanbase through branded collateral.
Advertising
The advertising for Rosemary’s Baby aims to highlight the who, what, when and where - emphasising its beloved cast and showrunner, as well as communicating the series’ themes of gender, sexuality, paranoia, religion, deception, and domesticity. Furthermore it the imagery reflects the series’ gothic, melodramatic, and campy visual identity.
Merchandise
Created for the superfans, this merchandise represents the limited series as high-quality television with a distinctive artistic vision - highlighting its prestigious cast and showrunner, and alluding to its strong production and writing. The imagery engages with the series’ themes, and reflects it’s gothic, melodramatic, and campy visual identity.
The merchandise includes a Rosemary’s Baby Soundtrack Vinyl, as well as a Rosemary’s Baby Collectors Edition DVD and Behind the Scenes Book.
Graphic Props
Throughout this project I also intend to create realistic appearing graphic props for the series that strengthens its stylistic vision, and convincingly fits within the show’s universe.
The props include the seemingly innocuous, Dr Sapirstien’s business card, as well as the mysterious All of them Witches book that Rosemary discovers and uses to learn about the occult practices happening around her.
Animated Title Sequence
Playing before each episode, this title sequence sets the tone for the series by instilling anxiety and unease in the viewer.
