Playfulness, collage, and humour - Alan Fletcher is remembered for his remarkable influence on the graphic design landscape for the latter half of the 20th century. Fletcher sourced inspiration for his colourful career from all over the globe and various creative fields - notably recognised for his expertise in mixed medium and fusing of type and image. His work has an iconographic wit – playing with visual puns, negative space, handwritten notation, and explosions of colour.

His career includes work on logo and book/magazine cover design, literature, corporate identities, and advertising. He, along with five other designers, was one of the founding members of the design group Pentagram and he is commercially recognised for his corporate logos for the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Institute of Directors, Pirelli, and Reuters. His influence on graphic design, collage and corporate identities continues today.
